The educator and counselor behind Teaching Kids 2 Care
Background & Experience
Dr. Latoria Fleming is a licensed K-12 educator with over 20 years of experience dedicated to helping children develop the social-emotional skills they need to thrive in school, at home, and in life.
Dr. Fleming holds a PhD in Counselor Education and has spent her career at the intersection of education and child development. She has served as an assistant professor of counseling, where she trained the next generation of school counselors in how to design and implement comprehensive school counseling programs that address the whole child — academically, socially, and emotionally.
In addition to her work in higher education, Dr. Fleming has served as a coordinator of school counseling services, working directly with schools and districts to build effective SEL programs from the ground up.
Why Teaching Kids 2 Care?
After years of working with schools, training counselors, and supporting families, Dr. Fleming saw a clear need: parents, teachers, and community leaders wanted high-quality social-emotional learning resources that were engaging for kids, easy to use, and grounded in research — but most available options were either too expensive, too complicated, or too dry for young learners.
Teaching Kids 2 Care was created to fill that gap. Every lesson on this platform is built on the CASEL (Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning) framework — the same evidence-based standards used by schools across the country. The content draws directly from Dr. Fleming's decades of hands-on experience with real children in real classrooms.
Our Mission: To make high-quality social-emotional learning accessible to every child — whether they're in a public school classroom, a homeschool kitchen table, a church youth group, or learning at home with their parents. Every child deserves the skills to understand their feelings, build strong relationships, and make responsible choices.
