Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy is a psycho-therapeutic approach that incorporates mindfulness practices, such as mindful meditation and breathing exercises, to improve attention, reduce stress, and increase the ability to regulate emotions.
Children tend to act out most while experiencing negative emotions such as feelings of anger, sadness, or fear. Practicing mindfulness techniques re-balances the thought process and helps them to refocus and find new ways of dealing with those emotions.
Children who have been diagnosed with an array of challenges and special needs such as ADHD, depression, anxiety, and aggressive disorders, have all benefited greatly from MBCT. Our focus is to provide information and inspiration to parents, educators, and mental health professionals in utilizing mindfulness in the development of whole and emotionally healthy children.
